Give them a voice.

We believe that communication is a human right. Our mission is to develop sustainable speech therapy services in Cambodia for all Cambodians.

Developing Speech Therapy In Cambodia.

Over half a million people in Cambodia struggle to communicate, and yet there are no professionally trained Cambodian speech therapists in the entire country.

With your help, we are changing that.

Our Work

Developing a speech therapy course

OIC Australia is supporting OIC Cambodia to help facilitate the development of a Cambodia-based course to train local speech therapists.

Awareness raising and advocacy

OIC Australia is supporting OIC Cambodia’s to raise awareness of the needs and rights of people with communication disabilities and promote community inclusion.

Training and capacity building

OIC Australia is supporting OIC Cambodia to run training for individuals who are living and working with people who have communication or swallowing difficulties.

Our Vision: Every child can exercise their right to communication.

OIC Australia is an organisation that supports the development of a self-sustainable speech therapy industry and ecosystem in Cambodia, through the work of OIC Cambodia.

Hundreds of thousands of children in Cambodia have speech and swallowing difficulties, yet there is not one Cambodian trained speech therapist in the entire country.

“We believe that every child deserves the right to communicate and being able to communicate is an essential part of a child's education.”

Trinity Grammar Junior School

Day Without Speech 2021

On the 6th March 2021, Trinity Grammar Junior School took part in their 6th Day Without Speech event raising an impressive $17,500 for OIC Australia. Amazing effort by both the students and staff. As part of event, OIC’s founder Weh Yeoh did a q&a session for the students so they could expand their knowledge of the challenges that are currently faced by children in Cambodia with speech and swallowing difficulties.

Our Day Without Speech events are much more than just fundraisers. They offer students the chance opportunity to expand their knowledge of a global health issue as well as encouraging empathy and understanding.

Campsie Public School - 17th June 2021

On the 17th June 2021, Campsie Public School will be taking part in their 6th Day Without Speech event. Continued support from our schools has been vitally important to OIC, meaning that each year we get closer to achieving our goal of establishing speech therapy in Cambodia by 2030.
